Day One — September 4
Lake Como | Varenna
Welcome to Lake Como, one of Italy’s most celebrated destinations, known for its dramatic alpine scenery, historic villas, and timeless elegance. We begin our journey in the hotel garden, where you’ll be welcomed with a glass of local wine as we toast the start of our adventure and take time to get to know one another.
After check-in, we’ll set out on an orientation walk through Varenna, a picturesque lakeside town beloved for its colorful houses, narrow stone lanes, and relaxed pace. Often considered one of the most authentic towns on Lake Como, Varenna offers a perfect introduction to the region’s charm and history.
Our walk continues to Villa Monastero, a former monastery turned historic villa, famous for its lakefront botanical gardens. Stretching along the water, the gardens feature thousands of plant species from around the world, carefully arranged against a backdrop of sweeping lake views—an iconic and serene setting that captures the essence of Lake Como.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy a short walk along the lake to our first dinner together near the water’s edge, an ideal opportunity to unwind, connect, and savor our first night in Italy.
