Day One August 28
Capital of Croatia, Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes
Welcome to Croatia and it's lovely capital, Zagreb. You will be met with your private driver that will whisk you away from the airport. Your trip to the Plitvices lakes region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be a pleasure, as you will sit back and view the heartland of Croatia.
You will arrive later in the afternoon, at one of our favorite lodges, very close to the park. Settle in, have a drink by the pool, or go for a walk nearby. Your dinner tonight in the lodge will be included with a selection to choose from*.

Day Two August 29
Plitvice Lakes to Zadar, Croatia
You are up early* for your tour of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, the home to many lakes, waterfalls, and stunning natural scenery. We will arrange entry and tour tickets for you so that you can enjoy the full experience that this park has to offer.
Later in the day you are off with your private driver for the city of Zadar, right on the Dalmatian coast on the Adriatic sea. Your driver will take you to the heart of this peninsula, right to your hotel.
Afterwards you can visit the famous ‘sea organ’ and the ‘monument to the sun’ down by the seaside.
There are many great restaurants and we have recommendations for local specialties.

Day Three August 30
Zadar to the Island of Hvar
Today you will have your private driver whisk you away to small island town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a small quaint town. Trogir (called Trau by the Venetians) is a lovely walled city boasting both Romanesque and Renaissance buildings. Take your time exploring it and be sure to stop for lunch at any of the attractive restaurants quay-side.
Afterwards, your driver will take you to Split with its walled city, Roman palace, and palm-lined streets. You can delve into the role this city played in Roman history. You can tour the Diocletian's Palace, erected by the Roman emperor in the 4th century. Once home to thousands, it still has more than 200 buildings within its enclaves. Be sure to see the cathedral of St. Domnius one of the best, standing Roman ruins in existence today. If you want you can climb up the belfry to catch the sites of the town below.
In the afternoon, you will head with your ferry to the lovely island of Hvar, renowned for its beautiful harbor town and wineries in the hinterland villages. Be sure to sit seaside right outside of our hotel for cocktails as the sun sets.

Day Four August 31
Island of Hvar
Today you can do many things, charter a boat* and explore the coast, rent a car* and visit ancient Greek towns (yes!), in addition to walking up to the fortress at the top of the town, the site of an ancient Illyrian settlement (500BC).
If you choose to take to the road to explore some of the outposts of the island,
we can recommend stops at a local winery for a tour and a tasting.
In the afternoon, you can do several things. Shop, sit in a seaside cafe, go for a swim just down the way. Hvar will be yours to explore and we will be here to give you all the insider recommendations!
Lots of recommendations for dinner tonight, but don't forget a sip of prosecco at the hotel's bar where the action is wonderful!

Day Five September 1
Island of Hvar
Today is a day for you to rest, do some shopping in town, or maybe sit in the quay-side cafe just below the hotel and people watch. Either way, enjoy your time on this marvelous cosmopolitan island!

Day Six September 2
Island of Korcula
You are off by boat to the charming island of Korcula for a two night stay. Full of vineyard and olive grove delights, it offers the finest in island living. Said to produce the best white wines in all of Croatia, you can sample them for yourselves, to see.
We have booked for you a relaxing hotel by the ocean.

Day Seven September 3
Island of Korcula
Your reservation includes a car rental, therefore after a leisurely breakfast, you can take off to enjoy the island.
There are many wineries to explore and beaches to see. Plus not to forget the main town with its seaside cafes right on the fortress wall. Later we can recommend our favorite kenoba (taverna in Croatian) that is a short way out of town and where the locals go.

Day Eight September 4
Island of Korcula
Today is a rest day. Sit in the lounge area of the hotel or take one of the stand-up paddle boards out for a spin.
Either way you will still have your car, so in the afternoon you can explore your favorite spots once again.

Day Nine September 5
Dubrovnik, Croatia
You are off by sea again for your ferry ride as you chart your course for Dubrovnik. A taxi will be waiting to take you to the walls of the city where you can make your way into your resort on the outskirts of the city.
After checking into your place, take the local bus into town to explore. So much to see!
We can recommend our favorite place to eat, just inside the fortress walls.

Day Ten September 6
Dubrovnik, Croatia
After an early breakfast you will have your tour of Dubrovnik with a local guide which will include a walk on the walls. The guide will also point out the many places where Games of Thrones was filmed.
Dubrovnik is all yours for further exploring after your tour.
We can also recommend kayak tours and other options for a delightful afternoon.

Your trip is in U.S.D. Croatia's currency is the HRK or Kuna. However almost all places give rates and costs in euro. We absorb this currency conversion and your trip remains in U.S.D., no matter what the conversion rates are at the time.
