Today is all about discovering the legendary wines that have made Bordeaux the benchmark for fine wine around the world.

After a leisurely breakfast, we'll travel by private vehicle through the stunning Médoc wine region, where grand châteaux, centuries-old vineyards, and the beautiful Gironde Estuary create one of France's most breathtaking landscapes.

Our morning features an exclusive visit to a renowned château, where you'll tour the estate and enjoy a guided tasting of exceptional Bordeaux wines. Sip, swirl, and savor some of the world's most celebrated vintages while learning the traditions and craftsmanship behind every bottle.

Day 3 – The Loire Valley & Château de Chenonceau

​Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning, with time to savor one last wine tasting before we board the high-speed train to the magnificent Loire Valley. While you travel in comfort, your luggage will be transferred separately and waiting for you upon arrival.

Our home for the next few days is a privately owned château overlooking the River Loire, in the heart of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After settling into your accommodations, we'll visit the spectacular Château de Chenonceau, one of France's most breathtaking Renaissance castles. Originally built in 1522 and gracefully spanning the River Cher, Chenonceau is renowned for its elegant architecture, fascinating history, and exquisite formal gardens. We'll have ample time to explore both the château and its magnificent grounds.

Later, relax at the château before gathering for a welcome drink, followed by our first dinner together at a charming local auberge, celebrated for its outstanding regional cuisine.

Day 4 – Chambord, Blois & Sancerre

This morning we journey to the magnificent Château de Chambord, the largest château in the Loire Valley and one of the most celebrated masterpieces of French Renaissance architecture. Originally commissioned by King Francis I as a royal hunting lodge, its grand towers, sweeping staircases, and distinctive skyline make it one of France's most iconic landmarks.

You can enjoy lunch or coffee, inside the castle grounds if you would like. We will take our time in the shops nearby including some very good wine selections. 

In the afternoon, you'll have free time to wander the charming town of Blois. Explore its winding cobblestone streets, half-timbered medieval buildings, inviting cafés, and the impressive Château de Blois, which has stood at the heart of the town for centuries.

Later, we'll return to our château for a tasting of one of the Loire Valley's most celebrated wines—elegant Sancerre. The evening is yours to enjoy, with dinner at your leisure. We'll be happy to recommend some of our favorite local restaurants.

Day 5 – Welcome to Provence: The Walled City of Avignon

After a leisurely breakfast, we'll bid farewell to the Loire Valley and board France's comfortable high-speed train for our journey south to the enchanting city of Avignon, the gateway to Provence. While you relax and enjoy the changing landscapes—from rolling vineyards to sun-drenched countryside—your luggage will be transferred separately and waiting for you at our hotel upon arrival.

Nestled on the banks of the Rhône River, Avignon is one of France's most captivating historic cities. Surrounded by impressive medieval walls, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the center of the Catholic world when seven successive popes ruled from here during the 14th century. It was during this remarkable period that Popes Benedict XII and Clement VI commissioned the magnificent Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes), creating one of the largest and most important Gothic buildings in Europe.

After checking into our hotel, we'll set out on an orientation walk through the heart of this beautifully preserved medieval city. Once the residence of the popes during the 14th century, this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a fascinating glimpse into a time when Avignon was the center of the Catholic world. During our visit, we'll explore a local vineyard to discover the unique terroir that makes this region so exceptional. Learn how the famous sun-warmed galets roulés (large rounded stones), Mediterranean climate, and centuries-old winemaking traditions combine to produce wines of remarkable depth and character. Day 7 – Pont du Gard & In the Footsteps of Van Gogh

After breakfast, we'll depart by private driver into the heart of Provence, beginning our day with a visit to the magnificent Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world. Built nearly 2,000 years ago, this remarkable aqueduct is a true testament to Roman engineering and remains one of France's most breathtaking historic landmarks.

We'll have time to explore the site at a relaxed pace, walk along the ancient aqueduct, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Gardon River. Take a moment to dip your feet in the water, relax along the riverbank, or enjoy a coffee at a nearby café before continuing our journey.

From here, we'll travel to the charming Provençal village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and beautiful countryside. This enchanting town captured the imagination of one of history's greatest artists--Vincent van Gogh—who created more than 150 masterpieces during his stay here, including Wheat Field with Cypresses and Olive Grove.

Mid-morning, we'll arrive in the spectacular hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Perched high above the Alpilles mountains, this medieval village offers breathtaking views across the Provençal countryside. Take time to wander its charming stone lanes, browse local shops, or enjoy a casual lunch at one of the inviting cafés.

We'll then make our way to the impressive Fortress of Les Baux, where centuries of history come alive among ancient ruins, dramatic walls, and panoramic views stretching across vineyards, olive groves, and valleys. For those interested, there will also be time to experience the immersive Carrières de Lumières art exhibition, where masterpieces are projected onto the walls of a former quarry in a truly unforgettable setting.

Day 11 – From Provence to Normandy: Monet’s Giverny & Charming Honfleur

Today we leave the beauty of Provence behind and make our way north to the enchanting region of Normandy. After breakfast, we'll board the high-speed train from Avignon to Paris before continuing by private transportation to the picturesque village of Giverny, home to one of the world's most beloved artists, Claude Monet.

Meanwhile, your luggage will be transferred ahead and waiting for you at our hotel in Honfleur, allowing you to travel with ease and enjoy the day.

It was here, from 1883 until his death in 1926, that Monet created the gardens that would inspire many of his greatest masterpieces. We'll explore his beautifully preserved home and stroll through the iconic gardens, including the famous Japanese-inspired water garden with its lily pond and the landscapes that inspired his celebrated Water Lilies series.

After our visit, you'll have time to enjoy the charming surroundings of Giverny, perhaps stopping for a relaxed lunch at one of the cafés near the gardens. You may also choose to visit the nearby Musée des Impressionnismes, dedicated to the artistic movement that transformed the world of painting.

By mid-morning, we'll depart by private transportation for Bayeux, a beautifully preserved medieval town and our home for the evening. After checking into our hotel and leaving our luggage, you'll have time to explore at your own pace. Enjoy lunch in one of the town's inviting cafés, wander its charming streets, or visit the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry, an extraordinary 11th-century masterpiece depicting the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England.

This afternoon, we turn our attention to one of the most significant moments in modern history. On June 6, 1944, the Allied forces launched D-Day, the largest amphibious invasion in history, beginning the liberation of Western Europe.

We will visit the legendary Omaha Beach, where American forces faced one of the most challenging battles of the invasion. We will also spend time at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, a deeply moving and beautifully maintained site overlooking the sea. Here, we will walk among the rows of perfectly aligned white crosses and Stars of David, reflect on the sacrifices made, and pay our respects to those who gave their lives for freedom.

Although we visited the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial yesterday, today we will join a specially arranged semi-private guided tour led by a knowledgeable local expert who will bring the story of the Normandy landings to life.

Traveling through the historic battlefields and coastal landscapes, our guide will provide valuable insight into the strategy, challenges, and human stories behind one of the most pivotal moments of World War II. Visiting the beaches and key sites with a local perspective allows us to better understand the scale, sacrifice, and courage that shaped the course of history.

After our morning tour, we'll return to Bayeux, where you'll have time to enjoy lunch in this charming medieval town before collecting our luggage and continuing by private transportation toward our next unforgettable destination--Mont Saint-Michel.'

Day 15 Return to the US-
You can return to Paris this morning for your return flight to the US.
We can help you arrange a private driver that will take you directly to the airport

Your Responsibility
Airfare to and from the tour and transportation (train is the best bet and we can help you book it) from the airport to our starting hotel in the Loire Valley and from our ending point (Provence) to the airport at the end of the tour.


Our tour starts in the Loire Valley (closest airport-Paris)  and ends in Mont St. Michel.
