You will pick up your rental car upon arrival at the airport, and make your way to the lovely town of Nafplio, with its preserved Neo-classical houses, boutique shopping, and excellent restaurants. Nafplio was once the capital of Greece, until it was moved to Athens.
On the way you might like to stop off at the ruins of Asklepion and the Theatre of Epidaurus, once the leading healing center of the ancient world.
Later in the evening, enjoy a cocktail with sea views or an ice cream in the main square where local life is on display.

Day Two
Nafplio
Today you will visit Mycenae, the mythical home of King Agamemnon and Clytemnestra. It was here where the explorer Heinrich Schliemann believed he had found the mask of Agamemnon. The approach takes you through low lying hills and valleys studded with shining olive groves- but once there, beehive tombs and cyclopean walls await you. Your guide will meet you and after touring the grounds and the museum, you will make your way to Nemea, where Hercules was put to one of his labors, slaying the Nemean Lion.
You will tour the grounds, and run in the ancient stadium, which once held games that rivaled those at Olympia.
Afterward, you will stop at an award winning winery to taste test their best wines. You will have reservations to ensure a perfect visit. It will be a pleasure to tour their vineyards, and enjoy a light lunch on the grounds.
In the afternoon, you will return to Nafplio with your rental car, where we can provide you with recommendations and reservations for some of our favorite places to eat.

Nafplio

Milos
You can make your way back to Athens this morning to catch your ferry (or flight) to the island of Milos. Milos is still one of the best preserved islands with awesome beaches and fantastic seas.
You will pick up your rental car at the port and take off for your boutique hotel. After checking in we have a beach to suggest for an afternoon swim.
Later there are many restaurants to go to where we can even get a reservation at our favorite one, where the locals all take their families for the best in island cooking.

Milos

Once in the capital we can recommend the historic museum for a quick look at what this island looked like in 1650 BC before one of the largest volcanic eruptions in history. We will have detailed maps for you and many tips to make this a walk to remember.
Later you can do some shopping and cafe sitting before heading back to your hotel. Some of the best sunsets can be had from the balcony of your hotel :)

After one more luxurious morning on the balcony of your hotel, you will take to the seas again and set sail for Naxos.
Naxos was made famous in mythology. It was here that the father of all gods, Zeus, grew up. And on his way back from killing the Minotaur, Theseus left Ariadne. She did not pine for too long until Dionysus arrived to succor her.
Once you are checked in, we can recommend an orientation walk of the main town of the island called, Chora with its white-washed architecture and cobblestone walkways, ending at one of our favorite tavernas for an island meal to remember.

Our first stop is a small inland village to visit a family that owns a distillery that produces a local liquor known as Citron. You will taste test this liquor and see how they make it.
From there you can take off for villages on the back side of the island, some made entirely of Naxian Marble. We will have lunch stops on offer that have views over villages that still make their living herding sheep and goats and mining the local marble.
You will take to the road again after lunch and later walk to a local family's garden where a Kouros (statue representing Apollo), originally mined and sculpted out of local marble, still lays thousand of years later.
After you return to town, in the late afternoon, take the optional short walk to the Temple of Apollo where we can watch an exquisite sunset over the Aegean.

Take all the time you need to explore this monument dating from 447 B.C., including sweeping views of Athens. You will walk together through the Ancient Agora and end up in the winding streets of Monastiraki, one of the oldest markets of Athens.
We can recommend some of the best souvlaki that Athens has to offer for lunch today.
In the afternoon, you can choose from a variety of activities including a foodie walk (if you have not already done it the day before), or a trip to the National Archeological museum for some of the most valuable finds in the world (cost on you).
