This whitewashed seaside town was home to Salvador Dalí, and you’ll enjoy a visit to the Dalí House-Museum—a fascinating look into the surrealist master’s life and work in the very home where he lived and created.

From there, you're free to continue exploring the region. We’ll provide a list of our favorite spots, including local wineries known for producing exceptional Catalan wines. Take your time to enjoy a tasting or two, or meander through charming nearby villages.

In the afternoon, we recommend heading back to the coast for some well-earned beach time. Rent a chaise and umbrella, order a cocktail, and soak in the Mediterranean sun.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy unhurried stops in two of the country’s most beloved towns:
  • Sintra, a fairytale hillside town known for its palaces, lush gardens, and romantic atmosphere. Stroll through its quaint streets, shop for local crafts, and perhaps visit the stunning Pena Palace or Quinta da Regaleira.
  • Óbidos, a beautifully preserved medieval village enclosed within ancient walls. Wander its cobblestone lanes, sample the local cherry liqueur Ginjinha, and admire the whitewashed houses adorned with colorful flowers.
