Welcome to Milan, Italy
Our Italian escape begins the moment we arrive. A private driver will greet us at the airport and escort us directly to our boutique accommodation, perfectly located in Milan’s historic center—close to the energy, yet tucked away for peaceful comfort.
After checking in, step out into the heart of the city to explore two of Milan’s most iconic treasures:
The elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a stunning 19th-century glass-covered arcade filled with luxury boutiques and chic cafés
From there, we’ll approach the Milan Duomo cathedral where we will have skip-the-line-tickets to access the roof and from there we will enjoy great views of the entire city. Our access tickets allow us inside the cathedral where we will enjoy the largest church in Italy (excluding Vatican City) and the fifth-largest church in the world, accommodating up to 40,000 people.
As evening falls, we'll have dinner recommendations in the vibrant Navigli canals district, known for its romantic waterways, lively atmosphere, and exceptional cuisine.

We are up early for our skip the line tickets to access to one of the most celebrated artworks in the world: Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper—a moving and unforgettable experience. Here we will have a guided tour that will take us up close to this fantastic work.
After returning to our hotel area, you can have some time to do some additional shopping before our private driver will escort us to the train station for our journey toward the enchanting shores of Lake Como.
As the train glides north, the scenery gradually transforms—rolling countryside giving way to dramatic mountains that signal our arrival in one of Italy’s most captivating regions.
Upon arrival, we’ll check into our boutique accommodation in Varenna, one of Lake Como’s most picturesque towns. Once settled, we will begin exploring at our own pace.

We’ll arrive in Stresa, where we’ll enjoy a leisurely lakeside walk before exploring the town’s shops, cafés, and restaurants. With our luggage safely with our driver, we can enjoy Stresa at our own pace and stop for lunch.
Later, we’ll drive approximately 50 minutes to Domodossola, a historic alpine town in Italy’s Piedmont region. Here, we’ll board our train for one of the most spectacular parts of the journey—a scenic ride through the Swiss Alps to Zermatt.
As the train climbs into the mountains, the scenery changes from Italian lakes and villages to emerald valleys, waterfalls, alpine meadows, wooden chalets, glaciers, and dramatic snow-capped peaks. It’s a beautiful introduction to Switzerland.
We’ll arrive in Zermatt, the charming, car-free mountain village at the foot of the legendary Matterhorn. After checking into our boutique hotel, the remainder of the afternoon is ours to explore, relax, or take a gentle walk through the surrounding alpine landscape.

Zurich to Munich, Germany
This morning, we'll take a short nonstop flight from Zurich to Munich, a journey of approximately 55 minutes. Upon arrival, we'll transfer to our boutique hotel to leave our luggage before meeting our private driver for a meaningful excursion just outside the city.
Our destination is the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, located about 30 minutes from Munich. Established in 1933 as the first permanent Nazi concentration camp, Dachau stands today as a place of remembrance, education, and reflection. During our visit, we'll have the opportunity to quietly walk through the memorial grounds, museum exhibits, reconstructed barracks, and places of remembrance that honor the countless lives forever changed by the atrocities committed here.
Following our return to Munich, the evening offers a change of pace as we experience another side of the city's rich cultural heritage. We'll join a guided walk through Munich's historic beer halls, learning about the traditions, stories, and customs that have made these gathering places an enduring part of Bavarian life. Along the way, we'll discover the history behind some of Munich's most iconic establishments while enjoying the lively atmosphere of the city's historic center. Oh, and we might quaff some beer.
We'll conclude the day with a wonderful dinner together as a family, sharing stories from our travels, reflecting on the experiences that have shaped this remarkable journey, and celebrating the memories we've created together.

This morning, we'll depart Munich and make our way to the enchanting city of Salzburg by fast train. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours each way, offering a comfortable and scenic ride through the beautiful landscapes of Bavaria and Austria as we transition from Germany into the heart of the Austrian Alps.
Salzburg is a city filled with extraordinary beauty, rich history, and unforgettable charm. Known as the birthplace of Mozart, this UNESCO World Heritage city is famous for its baroque architecture, elegant gardens, mountain views, and of course, its unforgettable connection to the beloved film The Sound of Music.

Hotels will be recommended so that we can stay relatively close together, making transportation and group coordination easier. Everyone is welcome to choose the hotel that best fits their preferences and budget, but we do ask that accommodations be in the same general areas so private drivers can efficiently pick us up and drop us off together. In each area that we will visit, based on our previous travels, we will have several hotels to recommend that will run the gamut of lux to clean and simple. We will also have Airbnbs and VRBO's to recommend if that is something that interests you. Again we ask that they are generally in the same area so coordination for train taking and private driver pick-up can be as simple as possible.
If our business is able to secure better group pricing, we can explore booking hotels together. Otherwise, everyone will reserve and pay for their own hotel rooms directly. Any local overnight taxes will also be paid individually at check-out.
