Welcome to Rome! A private driver will be on hand to whisk you from the airport to your centrally located hotel. Drop your bags and head out for your walking tour of Rome. We will have a route that we use every time we are in the amazing city. It takes you from the Trevi fountain to the Pantheon to the Piazza Navonna and back. There will be plenty of places to have your first meal in Italy. We will have recommendations for you.
Make your way back to the hotel for check in and a quick rest.
In the afternoon we have scheduled your tour of the Coliseum, the Forum and Palatine Hill-these monuments dating from the glory days for Rome, each one a wonder on its own.
The evening is yours for a special dinner marking the start of your celebration. We will have plenty of recommendations for your dinner including our favorite place for antipasto in Rome.

After breakfast you will make your way to the Vatican. Here we will have skip the line tickets to St. Peters, where you can take your time to explore this fascinating and holy church. Every corner of this place of worship has a story to tell. We will make sure that you have all the tools to explore it.
We will also have tickets for you to climb to the top of the dome where you will have views of all of Rome from the top.
There are plenty of places nearby to have a bit to eat before moving on to explore more of Rome.
You might want to go and see the Spanish steps, visit the Sistine Chapel, or go and see a museum or two. Or maybe a trip to the Via del Corso area for shopping. Some people even like a tour of Rome's catacombs. We will be on hand to recommend further exploring.

Day Four
Sorrento and The Amalfi Coast
Get ready to head south to Napoli! You will board your fast train to the south of Italy, passing farmland and hilltop villages in the lush green below Rome.
A private driver will be on hand at the Napoli train station to take you to Pompeii. There we will have skip-the-line-tickets for you to enter and explore on your own this site. We will have an audio guide for you so that you may learn the fascinating history behind the ruins of Pompeii, one of the most auspicious archeological digs in the world.
Afterwards, you can have a quick, simple lunch near the exit of the ruins.
Your private driver will take you further down the bay of Naples, winding around the volcano, Vesuvius, in the distance. You will arrive in Sorrento in the late afternoon to your hotel perched on the cliffs of this beautiful town.
Several years ago, they blocked traffic from the center of Sorrento town. This is excellent for you, as it is a great place where you can be like the locals and to do the la passeggiata , or the evening stroll. This morning is yours for the taking. Sleep in, go for a walk in town for a coffee or simply sit and watch the views.
Be ready in the afternoon to get to the port for your ferry ride to The Amalfi Coast and Positano. The trip there is exciting, with views of the cliff hugging roads and houses along the way. Positano is a lovely seaside village that has excellent pottery, clothes and jewelry shopping. We can also recommend putting your feet in the ocean (or some people pack a bathing suit, it is up to you). We will also have included your return ticket but you can change that and be flexible to return later or earlier to Sorrento.
Another night on the town in Sorrento is in order. Get a lemoncello before or after your dinner.

Welcome to Greece! A driver will be on hand at the airport to take you down to central Athens. You will be in a pedestrian area very near the Acropolis, one of our favorite parts of Athens.

You can take your time seeing this temple to Athena, with beautiful views to the entire Attiki Plain.

Island of Naxos
This morning you take off for the lovely island of Naxos. Naxos was made famous in mythology. It was here that the father of all gods, Zeus, grew up. And on his way back from killing the Minotaur, Theseus left Ariadne. She did not pine for too long until Dionysus arrived to succor her.
Besides taking a role in Greek Mythology, Naxos has excellent beaches and great cuisine. As a matter of fact a lot of staples consumed on the island are actually grown here such as great cheeses, luscious olive oils, many fruits and vegetables, and great meats.
There will be a private driver to meet you and take you to your hotel.
Once you check we can suggest an orientation walk of the main town of the island called, Chora with its white-washed architecture and cobblestone walkways, ending at one of our favorite tavernas for an island meal to remember.

We can help you secure a rental car for the day and we will be glad to share our favorite places with you for a stunning tour.
Your first stop is the village of Halkio to visit a family that owns a distillery that produces a local liquor known as Citron. You can taste test this liquor and see how they make it.
Then you can move on to a hilltop village where all the houses are made of marble due to the fantastic marble mines on the island.
Be sure to stop at a local family's garden where a Kouros (statue representing Apollo), originally mined and sculpted out of local marble, still lays thousands of years later.
And all along the way we have recommendations for lunch.
After you return to town, in the late afternoon, take the short walk to the Temple of Apollo where you can watch an exquisite sunset over the Aegean.

After checking your bags at our caldera-view hotel, you can walk into town, along winding paths and make our way to the Prehistoric Museum in Fira. Here you will explore the finds discovered at the site of Akrotiri, some dating 1000 years before the Parthenon. You will learn of the ancient civilization that once lived here; which some people think was the lost City of Atlantis.
We will recommend some tavernas for a great dinner on your own. Later you can enjoy a drink in dreamy bars overlooking the caldera.
