A setting beautifully drenched with serene beaches, local wineries, and ancient settlements
makes this a lovely island must-see. Start your day in Hvar’s picturesque harbor sipping coffee or
tea seaside.
Take a stroll along cobblestone streets and white-washed buildings—shopping among local
merchants and find yourself beachside for the day. There is no end to the enchanting beaches and
pristine waters that Hvar has to offer.
We are going this September 2024
If you can pull yourself away the sea, discovering the history and the inside of the island will
surely make your trip. Head out of the main square, through the old town of the city and make
your way up to Fortress Fortica— built during Venetian rule in the 16th century.
From the top, a panoramic picture lover’s dream awaits with lush Mediterranean greenery, the
orange terracotta rooftops of Hvar city, and the Pakleni Islands which sit among endless blue
waters.
Head away from the blues of the coast and wander into the rolling green the island has to offer
from lavender fields to wineries. Hvar is known for their red wine— one of which is Zinfandel, a must-try among travelers and locals.
The history of winemaking on Hvar dates to the 4 th century BC when ancient Greeks settled the Pharos colony, which is present day Stari Grad (Northern side of the island). Thank you, ancient Greeks, for this timeless tradition!
