Day One
​Monday June 3
Meet In The Capital Zagreb


We will be picked up at the airport and shuttled into the heart of this vibrant European city. Zagreb has a lot to offer and a local guide will give us a walking tour of this lovely city. We will break for lunch in the old medieval part of town and you can have your pick of places. 

In the afternoon we will be off to the scenic area around Plitvice Lakes. We will have a meeting before dinner to have introductions and a welcome drink. Afterwards we will have dinner together for our first Croatian dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Two
​Tuesday June 4
Plitvices Lakes


We are up early for our private tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park. This serene area is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and the home to many lakes, waterfalls, and stunning natural scenery. Our private, local guide will take us around. 

In the afternoon, we head out by private transport to the walled city of Zadar, right on the Dalmatian coast of the Adriatic sea. A peninsula town, it has all sorts of Byzantine and Roman ruins. We will check into our hotel and afterwards visit the famous ‘sea organ’  and the ‘monument to the sun’ down by the seaside.
​Afterwards we will walk to dinner together for local specialties.


Later we will have a multi course meal together sampling local specialties.

Day Three
​Wednesday June 5
Zadar, Croatia


Today we have a private tour of Zadar. We'll see the Roman Forum, the 9th century Byzantine church of St. Donates, and other memorable parts of the town. Lunch on your own at any of the great spots in town. 

Then the afternoon is yours. You can take an optional cruise to the Kornati Island, a national park, to see the unspoiled area off the coast of Zadar, or hit the nearby beaches. 

Dinner on your own with recommendations from us.

Day Four
Thursday June 6

​Island of Hvar


We take off inland for our trip to the small island town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a small quaint town. Trogir (called Trau by the Venetians) is a lovely walled city boasting both Romanesque and Renaissance buildings. Our guide will be on hand to take us around and then show us some spots for lunch on your own. 

Afterwards, we are off to Split with its walled city, Roman palace, and palm-lined streets.  We’ll delve into the role this city played in Roman history. We will tour the Diocletian's Palace, erected by the Roman emperor in the 4th century. Once home to thousands, it still has more than 200 buildings within its enclaves. Then we are off to the cathedral of St. Domnius one of the best, standing Roman ruins in existence today. For those who want we can climb up the belfry to catch the sites of the town below us.

In the afternoon, we will head to our ferry to the lovely island of Hvar, renowned for its beautiful harbor town and wineries in the hinterland villages. Be sure to sit seaside right outside of our hotel for cocktails as the sun sets. 

Join us later for dinner together in a quay-side spot that we love.

Day Five
Friday June 7

Island of Hvar


Join us as we take a walking tour of the fortressed town of Hvar town, The site of an ancient Illyrian settlement (500BC).

We will then take to the road to explore some of the outposts of the island, with stops at a local winery for a tour and a tasting.

After our tour, you can have lunch on your own with plenty of recommendations from us.

In the afternoon you can do several things, shop, sit in a seaside cafe, go for a swim just down at the seaside. Hvar will be yours to explore.

We will be on hand to recommend a restaurant for dinner on your own.

Day Six
Saturday June 8

​Island of Korcula

​We are off by boat to the charming island of  lovely Island of Korcula for a two night stay. Full of vineyard and olive grove delights, it offers the finest in island living. Said to produce the best white wines in all of Croatia, we will sample them
to see for ourselves.

We will check in and then the afternoon is yours to visit the walled medieval town for shopping and people watching.

Afterwards, join us for dinner together.

Day Seven
​Sunday June 9

Island of Korcula

This morning we head out to some of the lovely small villages of Korcula. We will have a local guide that will take us around so that we can see the highlights that this island has to offer. We will stop by one of the famous wineries of Korcula and state test their wines and partake in a little charcuterie.

We will be back in town later for shopping in the medieval streets of the town. Grab a drink at any of the sidewalk cafes in the winding cobblestone streets. 

All in all a great day for exploring.

Day Eight
Monday June 10

Dubrovnik, Croatia

We take to the seas again by ferry boat today to chart our course for Dubrovnik. 

After we check into our hotel, we will have a tour of this town, including a walk on the walls. Join us tonight for our farewell dinner.

Day Nine
​Tuesday June 11

We say goodbye this morning in Dubrovnik. You can stay on for a few more days to relax or go on to other parts of Europe. Your choice!

Trip Terms

A deposit of $1000 per person is needed to secure a place on this tour. All deposits need to be in by January 30 2019. All final payments, less the deposit (5 participants $$3690/ 7 participants $3490/ 9 participants $3290) need to be in by March 5 2019. Until March 5 2019 all deposits are fully refundable. After final payment is in no refund is possible.
Things you might like to know-

The start of our trip-
The trip to Croatia will start on Monday June 3. On Sunday June 2 we will fly from Paros to Athens, stay overnight near the airport and then leave the next morning for Zagreb to start our trip. 

A flight Sunday June 2, leaves Paros around 6 p.m.  It is a 40 minute trip to Athens. We will be picked up at airport and transported 20 minutes to hotel near the sea. This flight cost is on you but as we said we would be glad to book it for all people on the tour. Right now they are cheaper than a ferry ticket (less than $60-We emphasize-right now!)

The on Monday June 3 we can have a non-stop Athens to Zagreb (only three a week non-stop+lucky us) these are running around $150 per person. Again that is right now. This cost is on you, but we will gladly book it for you. 

On Sunday (June 2) night we will be staying at this hotel. Dolce Attica Riviera http://www.dolceatticariviera.com/

At the end of our trip-

On the way back you can leave the day of the end of our trip (Croatia) which is Tuesday June 11th and you will arrive back in the states and your house on the same day. However if you can stay one more day in Dubrovnik, the only thing it will cost you is the hotel overnight and a meal. We can arrange for you to stay overnight at the same hotel at the rates we get. Something to think about, it is a nice way to unwind before heading back.

Manolis Hajifotiou

A native of Greece, Manolis has been leading tours in Europe for 21 years. Besides traveling, his passion is playing his guitar and creating his own music. He also likes to keep up with the stone house he shares with his wife, Patricia, especially trimming their olive trees.  He looks forward to showing you his favorite places and making sure you feel right at home.

A native of the U.S.A., Patricia has been leading tours in Europe for 21 years. She lives on the island of Evia, Greece, with her husband Manolis. When she is not on tour, she lives off the grid in a rock house, powered by the wind and sun. There she likes to spend her time digging in the garden.
