Day One- Saturday June 6 (June 18)
Welcome to Spain and its capital, Madrid! After you are checked in and have a short rest join, us for an afternoon walking tour of Madrid. We will see the sites that Madrid has to offer in our 2 + hour tour including the Puerto del Sol, Madrid’s lively square, and the Plaza Mayor- a historic cobbled-stoned square. We will end our walk in the Royal Botanical gardens and you may linger there if you wish.
Join us later in the evening as we enjoy a welcome drink and introductions before walking to dinner together. Walking tour of central Madrid/ visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens/ Welcome drink/ Dinner together/ Overnight central Madrid.

Day Two- Sunday June 7 (June 19)
This morning we depart by fast train to Toledo (Holy!), once Spain’s capital and now considered a national monument.
Here we will have a local guide take us around to visit the Toledo’s Cathedral dating from 1226- filled with art treasures including works by El Greco. We are then onto the beautifully built town hall, and the Plaza de Zocodover.
We will break for lunch on your own and afterwards you will have time to explore on your own before we catch our train back to Madrid.
We will reserve a dinner spot for you to enjoy as a family tonight.

Day Three- Monday June 8 (June 20)
One of the most stunning cities in Spain, Avila is our destination today. A UNESCO World Heritage site it is famous for two things -it turreted medieval walls enclosing the old town (started in 1090 a.d.) and the birthplace of St. Theresa. We are off for a day visit to Avila.
We will have a local guide that will take us to the monastery that Theresa founded and talk about her life. We will break for lunch on your own.
Afterward our guide will take us around to the historic district of Avila as we immerse ourselves in the medieval town. In the afternoon we are back in Madrid where we will have dinner reservations ready for you for you to enjoy as a family on your own.

Day Four- Tuesday June 9 (June 21)
This morning we are off by fast train to Seville. After checking into our hotel, we will offer an orientation walk of one of the most historic cities in Spain.
Join us in the afternoon as we explore more of what Seville has to offer. Now that we are now in the 'flamenco' region of Spain, we will take in a flamenco dance demonstration.
Afterwards we will have dinner together, including local specialties.

Seville-once a Roman city, is now the home of three UNESCO World Heritage sites-the Cathedral (includes the tomb of Christopher Columbus), Alcázar(with its splendid gardens) and the Archivo de India. We will have a local guide take us to explore each one of these sites.
The afternoon is yours- maybe a visit to the Flamenco Museum, take in a bullfight or go and see some of the best shopping streets around.
Dinner is on your own (with dinner reservations done by us) but before, join us for a celebratory drink as we toast to traveling together again! We will imbibe some wonderful Cava of Spain (Champagne).

Day Six - Thursday June 11 (June 23)
We take to the road today as we wind through the the white hill towns of Andalucia. We will take our time as we visit the cliff hugging village of Ronda.
Lunch is at any one of the cafes in town and after we continue our journey. Our private coach will take us to the Cueva de la Pileta to have a close up look at the Neolithic cave paintings that line this site, some 25,000 years old.
We will arrive in Granada in the afternoon in time for check in and an orientation walk around town before dinner together, at one of our favorite

You can have a leisurely morning and afterwards check out the Albayzin-the old moorish quarter, the Corral del Carbon, and the cathedral downtown.
Be ready in the afternoon as we take our tour of the Alhambra fortress, the last refuge of the Moorish Kings of Spain. Inside the walls of this site dating from the 13th and 14th centuries are the Palacios Nazaries, the Alcazaba Fort and the Generalife Gardens. Our skip-the-line tickets allows access to each site and we will have a guide that will take us around.
The evening is yours to enjoy-maybe you would like to take a hammam at al Andalus in the old Arab baths or further explore the town. We will make dinner reservations for you in the upper old town with spectacular views of Alhambra fortress.

Today we are off by plane to of Barcelona one of the most vibrant cities in all of Spain. After dropping our bags off at our hotel you can take a break at a nearby tapas place for lunch.
Join us in the afternoon as we take our Barcelona walking tour, the Las Ramblas and the heart of the medieval old city.
Join us for dinner together this evening featuring hearty Catalan fare.

This morning we head to Park Guell a public park designed by Antoni Gaudi in the hills above Barcelona. Parc Guell is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered to one of Gaudi's most important works.
We will break for lunch on your own and then we are off to visit another of Gaudi's monuments, La Sagrada Familia. Here we will have a tour that will explain the ongoing work of Gaudi's ambitious plan. We will take our time to see one of the largest Catholic churches in the world.
Later you can can continue onto Montjuic for the Joan Miro museum or Barceloneta to the beach. Dinner on your own but we will make the reservations for you.

We leave in the morning for the mountains surrounding Barcelona. Here we will visit the auspicious Monastery Santa Maria de Montserrat.
We will have a guided tour of this monastery and the Black Madonna a figure from the 12th century and the patron saint of Catalonia.
There is a funicular that will take us to the very top of the massif where we can get spectacular views of the surrounding area.
We will help you pick out a place for lunch on your own before we return to Barcelona.
Please join us later for a special farewell dinner where we will enjoy the marvelous food of Spain once again!

Our tour ends this morning. Take your time checking out. From here you can head back to the States or further your adventure to other parts including nearby, Lourdes, France. We will be on hand to help facilitate your further travels. We bid you Buen Viaje-Have a good trip-in Spanish.

The remaining balance is due by February 20 2020. After your remaining balance is paid, your trip is non-refundable.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes
June 16- (June 28)
We leave by fast train from Barcelona, Spain to Lourdes, France. After we arrive, we will check in and attend mass on the the sacred grounds that is Lourdes. Join us in the evening as we partake in some French cuisine for dinner together. Later we can attend the candlelight procession that starts at the Sanctuaires Notre-Dame de Lourdes and winds through the grounds bringing together pilgrims from all over the world.

June 17- (June 29)
We are off early to pick up our Pilgrimage Passport and our guide who will take us to visit the sacred Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, including the shrine (grotto), where the visions of Bernadette Soubirous took place. We will have an in depth tour and take our time visiting. We will have a break for lunch and then those who want to can take in the baths for a full immersion while others of us will go the taps to gather Lourdes water. Dinner together as we celebrate our farewell dinner.

Manolis HajifotiouA native of Greece, Manolis has been leading tours in Europe for 21 years. Besides traveling, his passion is playing his guitar and creating his own music. He also likes to keep up with the stone house he shares with his wife, Patricia, especially trimming their olive trees. He looks forward to showing you his favorite places and making sure you feel right at home.

Patricia HajifotiouA native of the U.S.A., Patricia has been leading tours in Europe for 21 years. She lives on the island of Evia, Greece, with her husband Manolis. When she is not on tour, she lives off the grid in a rock house, powered by the wind and sun. There she likes to spend her time digging in the garden. She looks forward to showing you the places she likes the best.
